Title: I loved the book
Review: I loved the book!! I have read all of her books and really enjoy the attention to the details of food, places, etc. I’ve enjoyed following Laura, Franck, and family on their journey. I appreciate the unguarded and/or transparent way Laura’s feeling and thoughts are portrayed through each of the books. For me, I know from reading each of her books, that I can settle down in a nice comfy chair with a cup of tea or glass of wine and know I’ll enjoy the entire book and the whole experience of being in France without leaving my house! I also like how she incorporates French words and phrases throughout the books. My Grape Paris fills in the gaps from when Laura leaves France after her high school exchange year to before they get married. It is a very enjoyable read and I highly recommend giving it a go!

Title: Ooh la la
Review: I love the continuing story, even though I missed book 2. Now I must read more! Laura and Franck Are generously sharing their story and it’s pretty impressive. I love reading about Paris and hope to see it someday, but I’d never have the nerve to try to live there. I have traveled in France and it’s GORGEOUS!!

Title: I’ve just spent a year in Paris…..
Review: Or, at least I feel like I did, thanks to Laura Bradbury’s latest “Grape” installment. I am a fan of the entire series (I’ve read them all at least twice) and this one is a new favorite. As much as I tried to read it slowly, I couldn’t help myself. I devoured page after page, gobbling up Paris along the way. I smelled the food, heard the crispy crunch of the fresh croissants, felt the stifling summer heat and got a bit seasick on the Seine. Laura’s writing is so evocative of her ‘moment in time’ that I also suffered her youthful angst about her studies, her friends, her neighbors, her relationship and her future. This book was a joy to read and I will likely be re-reading it again in the near future but this time I will do it slowly, savoring every page. It will be a treat, to be sure.

Title: I’ve been waiting for this installment
Review: Have you ever been to Paris? Do you want to go to Paris? My Grape Paris brilliantly takes you there. This book is a romance entwined within a travelogue. Laura beautifully describes the sights, sounds, smells and tastes (I want some of that chocolate mousse) of Paris as she experiences life as an exchange student at the Sorbonne. There are cultural norms to learn, an apartment to rent, administrative hurdles to overcome, relationship angst to address and friendships to nurture. Laura’s friends become your friends during the course of the book. They’re funny. They’re real. They’re special. At the end, it is a bittersweet au revoir.

Title: Wonderful read for Paris-lovers
Review: Probably my favorite of the series. As always, I appreciated the fascinating cultural insights woven into the text. The descriptions of the reality of life in Paris were so vivid and memorable. I was inspired to visit the Sorbonne (it’s open to the public one weekend a year) just because of the author’s descriptions of the magnificent amphitheaters.

Title: Easy read.
Review: This is one book in a series from a Canadian women about her life in France. It is the essential book to read on a beach or laying in a hammock in the garden. The food she describes sounds delicious and for that alone it is worth reading it.

Title: Paris!
Review: I have read and loved all Laura’s Grape Series, and this is a fabulous addition. Not as you might expect, carrying on the story – this book returns to Laura’s student days, when she returns to France to do a year’s study at the Sorbonne. In medieval French literature. Wow! For someone who is not a native French speaker this is a big deal. I’m not going to spoil the story, but we find out how difficult it is to find a Parisienne apartment, the difficulties of being in a relationship with someone from a different continent, and the sheer joy of living in Paris. Again, this is a wonderful book, and I recommend it to everyone. Laura is a wonderful storyteller.

Title: Loved it!
Review: My Grape Paris picks up where My Grape Year left off, telling the story of Laura and Franck’s year together in Paris, where Laura is spending a year abroad for her university studies. I’ve never been to Paris, so it was a lot of fun to experience it through Laura’s firsthand accounts – the food, the sites, the people, the atmosphere. I love how Laura weaves together the romance of living abroad, in Paris, with the sometimes not-so-romantic reality of things. That combined with her unique perspective and insight make this, like her other books in The Grape Series a fun and inspiring read.

Review: I had no idea of the grape series but when I read the rave reviews, I had to order them. Usually, I’ll order one, read it and then order more. This time, I went in all the way right off the bat. I love Laura’s writing style and the humour of her books. I too come from Laura’s home town of Victoria but now live in Sooke. Reading accounts of all the places I know and love too. I hope one day to meet this family. I love France as well being there once, it was great to hear of the places I’ve been too. Having read through all the books once, I’m on my second read and love them even more than the first time. Toujours Burgundy!

Review: You have to visit Paris and see it through the adoring eyes of north American Laura Bradbury and her French, already Paris-savvy boyfriend as they settle into a year there while Laura is a student. French cuisine, Paris’s secrets, Medieval French and student angst. What’s not to love?
